After earning degrees in English Literature and PR in his native Poland, Pawel worked as a translator. Relocation to Uruguay soon changed the course of his career as he enrolled in a sommelier program at the University of the Republic in Montevideo. Travels to the major wine regions of South America and work at wine events inspired Pawel to jump into deep water and move to London in 2012. There, he worked at the International Wine Challenge and Decanter Magazine and managed to set up the wine tourism portal WineMeccas.
In 2015 Pawel joined a renowned Spanish winery as export director and spent three years developing their Central and Eastern Europe as well as Nordic markets from the Berlin office.
Having completed his Certified Sake Sommelier qualification with the Sake Sommelier Association in London, Pawel also became a Certified Sake Educator. In parallel he established the Berlin Wine School and hopes to be the leading provider of wine and sake education in Germany for professionals and enthusiasts alike.
We are a wine and sake education company approved by the Sake Sommelier Association (SSA) and Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) to offer the wine and sake training.
The courses are run in the heart of Berlin in English and German languages. We welcome everyone who would like to learn about wine and sake.
