Julie is a sommelier-consultant, wine educator and business owner at Down2Wine in Ireland. Born in France, Julie’s passion for wine and tasting was inspired by her grandmothers love of cooking and has continued to flourish since moving to Ireland in 2004 where she has worked with some of the country’s best chefs, expanded her international wine knowledge and won several awards at national and international wine competitions. As a passionate advocate for high quality beverages, Julie has completed the WSET Diploma, the WSET Level 3 course in Sake and has also studied at the London Tea Academy. In December 2020, Julie launched a new educational mobile app called SommNinja to help sommeliers, wine students and enthusiasts to further their education. It is Julie’s lifelong ambition to inspire others with her award-winning knowledge and lifelong passion of wine.
SommNinja is an educational mobile app designed by Julie to help sommeliers and wine lovers to further their education on the move. The app is available on both Apple and Android devices and allows users to develop their skills in preparation for professional qualifications and competitions. Students are exposed to over 10,000 question cards, which they can categorise by level and topic to suit their educational needs. In addition to the app training, Julie offers live sake and wine courses online.
