I started my career in the Okura hotel in Amsterdam in 2015 and became head sommelier of Yamazato and Sazanka in 2019. Here I found my love for sake and made an extensive list designated to sake. I’m a huge fan of Yamahai and Kimoto sake and love funky sake the most.
Now I’m working as a sake importer and Manager & Sommelier at Hokkai Kitchen in IJmuiden.
Alongside this I teach Sake Sommelier courses and distribute sake online via Drinks From Japan.
In 2023, I undertook and earned the Master Sake Sommelier qualification – the highest course offered by the Sake Sommelier Association, becoming one of the first 35 people in the world to earn the qualification and the first from The Netherlands.
