Sake Educator: Christian Maspes

Christian, originally from Bergamo, Italy; has spent the last 20 years in the professional hospitality sector, with a focus on the world of bars & beverages. With energy and enthusiasm, Christian has held leading positions in venues such as the Dorchester Hotel, the Westbury Hotel and the Savoy. In 2014 he stepped up as part of the management team for one of the highest cocktail bars in Europe, located at the 52nd floor of The Shard, as the Head Mixologist for GONG bar at the Shangri-la Hotel.

In 2011 during his experience at the Westbury Hotel, Christian earned his qualification of a Sake Sommelier and the following year as a Sake Educator.
Since joining the Sake Sommelier Association, Christian has fused his love for cocktails with a knowledge of Sake to create a number of sake-based cocktails.
