Sarah is the sake tutor at West London Wine School, a sake judge at the International Wine Challenge, and Membership & Events Officer for the British Sake Association. She completed her WSET Level 3 Sake in 2018, and received the IWC Sake Prize for highest scoring paper that year. She was one of 15 participants selected for the Japan Sake & Shochu Brewers’ Association 2019 Annual Academy in Tokyo, and is one of the only people in the UK with the Japan Sommelier Association’s Sake Diploma International qualification.

Additional credentials include: Certified Sake Professional with the Sake Education Council, WSET Level 3 Wine (Dist), French, Spanish and Italian Wine Scholar (Highest Honors) with the Wine Scholar Guild, Court of Master Sommeliers Level 1, and Certified Specialist of Wine and Certified Specialists of Spirits with the Society of Wine Educators. She is thrilled to be an accredited SSA Sake Educator and Certified Sake Sommelier.

Sarah lived in Japan for two years and has spent time at many sake breweries.She visits more on every return trip, as each brewery has a unique approach to crafting this magical beverage. She has also trained in Urasenke chado, “The Way of Tea”, for the past 15 years, giving her hands-on experience in traditional Japanese methods of sake service and hospitality.

West London Wine School is a local, independent and award-winning wine education company based in the heart of West London, where we host tastings and courses in London for people who enjoy wine, beer, sake and cheese and would like to learn more about it. We started out in 2010 so we are well into our second decade of delighting enthusiasts from far and wide. During the pandemic we significantly up-scaled our online offerings to allow people to continue enjoying interactions with their favourite tipple.

We are the largest independent provider of WSET courses in the UK and are also an approved provider of Wine Scholar Guild and BPET Beer courses. We are now delighted to announce a new partnership with the Sake Sommelier Association to expand our Sake programmes.

 Our courses and tastings focus on enjoying wine, sake and beer, whilst learning more in a relaxed and informal setting with friendly people and industry-leading tutors.
