    We recently had the wonderful opportunity to host We recently had the wonderful opportunity to host our Advance Sake Sommelier course in the picturesque region of Tottori, Japan 🗾 Lets give a huge congratulations to Mr. Alan and Mr. Yi, for achieving the prestigious Advance Sake Sommelier Qualification🎉 Thanks to our incredible partners at Chiyomusubi Sake Brewery @chiyomusubi, for their warm hospitality & their guidance - their knowledge & passion for sake is truly invaluable 💫 Yi, a Sake Distributor from Australia is excited to bring back everything he learnt to help elevate sake culture back home. Alan, a Senior Food & Beverage Instructor from Singapore, came with a strong passion for sake, and left with a new level of expertise that he hopes will inspire others. Their preparation before traveling to Japan gave them valuable insights both within the brewery, and outside they engaged in extracurricular activities that highlighted the TERROIR, helping them understand the history of the brewery and how sake is deeply connected to Japanese culture👏 Set in a historical operational sake brewery, this is a rare opportunity to get hands on, dive deep into the sake brewing process. Students get an insider look at each step of the process, and gain a true sense of the role these breweries play in their local community and the wider sake industry. INTERNATIONAL SAKE SOMMELIER DAY 25 years since we first taught Sake to Sommeliers - time flies when passion lights the way; we’re thrilled to add a new date to our calendars: April 4th 2025 will be the first ever International Sake Sommelier Day! Every year on April 4th, Sake Sommeliers around the world will toast to their achievements under the beauty of the cherry blossom trees! On the anniversary of our first course; International Sake Sommelier Day aims to recognise the tireless work of Sake Sommeliers and their efforts to share this wonderful drink with their communities across the world! Xavier Chapelou, co-founder of the SSA, spoke of the goal: “Becoming a Sake Sommelier takes determination, dedication and no small amount of skill! We felt it was time to commemorate their hard work and honour their service to the sake industry”. With Sake Sommelier courses now available across 6 continents, our mission to teach the world about sake is well on track!
